Air Pollution and Acid Rain
Air pollution is one of the major problems the Western Europe countries. It's mainly caused by human activities, such as factories burning chemicals and releasing them into the air, and people using fossil fuels to use their cars and homes. Countries have more air pollution than others, such as Germany, because of the large population and industrial usage. Commonly, the gasses released into the air mix with water, forming acid rain. the effects of acid rain can be seen in Germany and Switzerland, where the forests have been damaged and withered down. Air pollution can have long term effects such as lung cancer and heart disease, which are both life threatening.

Deforestation
Deforestation is caused by acid rain, clearance for agriculture, and logging. Deforested areas increase the chances of desertification, which will lead to dryness of the area instead of a wet area. Cutting down forests increases the temperature and climate change, since they store carbon and carbon is being released when they are cleared. It also has a negative impact on wildlife, as some animals and plants rely heavily on the trees for habitats and resources. Deforestation is present in all countries, but mostly the Netherlands and Germany.
